Freight trucks are used for transporting heavy or oversized items to ensure safe delivery of your items and to minimize potential damage during shipping. Items over 100 lbs., including most boilers and water heaters, are typically shipped via freight truck and are eligible for lift gate service.

Lift Gate Service for Freight Orders

You can add lift gate service to any order shipping via freight truck at checkout for no additional cost.

Lift gate service includes off-loading your package from the truck and curbside delivery. Selecting lift gate service ensures the freight truck delivering your shipment will be equipped with a lift gate (a motorized platform attached to the back of the truck to physically lower items from the bed of the truck to the ground).

Note: Standard freight trucks do not have lift gates. If you don't add lift gate service to your order, you may need the assistance of several people to get your item off the truck. If your delivery location has a loading dock or forklift, you don't need a lift gate.

When you receive a freight order, always be sure to inspect the package using the guidelines below before accepting the delivery. All freight shipments are curbside deliveries unless otherwise noted.

How to inspect freight packages

How to inspect freight packages:

Examine both the packaging and the material inside to ensure there is no physical damage. *
Make sure the material is strapped down to a skid and matches your SupplyHouse.com packing slip.
If your material has arrived damaged, please note all damages on the delivery receipt and refuse the delivery.
All freight shipments are curbside deliveries unless otherwise noted. Our customer service team can arrange a lift gate service.
Additional fees apply if you wish to change your address once a shipment is already in transit.

Note: Damaged units MUST be reported within 24 hours of receipt.

* If you find minimal damage that won't affect the way the unit operates, you can make a note on the delivery receipt and accept the delivery.

Tracking Freight Shipments

Heavier items will ship via one of our freight carriers. Once your order has shipped, you'll receive an email with the tracking number(s) of your package(s). Your email will also contain an estimated delivery date. Please note that the date provided is only an estimate. Delivery on the provided date is not guaranteed. The freight company will call you at least 24 hours in advance of delivery to schedule a drop-off time. You may also call the freight company directly to schedule. Please have your tracking number ready when calling to schedule delivery. To track a freight shipment, please use the following links:

Freight Returns

Freight returns may be scheduled through our customer service team. You can also return items via freight using the carrier of your choice. When making freight returns with your own carrier, please provide us with the carrier information and tracking number. SupplyHouse.com assumes no responsibility for any damages that occur with the carrier of customer's choosing during transport.

When shipping via freight, your carrier will require a pallet and straps. Here's a useful video on how to secure freight returns to a pallet:

Freight pick-up is curbside only. An adult over the age of 18 must be present at the time of pick-up to provide the freight company with all necessary paperwork.
